How does someone qualify to be a Juror?

You are qualified for jury service if you:

  • Are 18 years of age or older
  • Are a citizen of the United States
  • Are a resident of Stanislaus County
  • Are able to speak and understand English
  • Have not been convicted of a felony or have been convicted of a felony but had your civil rights restored
  • Are not the subject of a conservatorship
  • Are not a peace officer pursuant to penal code sections 830.1 or 830.2 (A)(B)(C)
  • Are not currently serving as a Stanislaus County grand juror or as a juror in federal court
  • Have not served as a Stanislaus County trial juror within the last 12 months

Citizens are called to serve by being randomly selected from either the California Department of Motor Vehicles list, or the Stanislaus County Registrar-Recorder list of registered voters.
