To avoid a court appearance you may pay the full bail (fine plus fees) online or by mail at the address that is listed on your Courtesy Notice. The fine must be paid prior to your court date. If you do not receive a Courtesy Notice, you may phone the court at (209) 530-3100 and select the division that your case is assigned to. The Court that you are to appear in or pay your fine to is shown on the bottom of your ticket.

If you are paying by check or money order, please make it out to: Superior Court Traffic. Please write your name and case/docket number on the check or money order to insure that the payment is applied to your case. DO NOT MAIL CASH.

New Fees Effective January 1, 2009
Pursuant to Gov. Code 70373:
- any case for which we receive payment is subject to a Conviction Assessment Fee of $35.00 per conviction (per charge).
Pursuant to VC Code 40611:
- any proof of correction that we receive will be assessed a $25.00 Proof of Correction Fee per violation (per charge).
- the fee for anyone who qualifies for Traffic Violator School will be $56.00.
If You Are Paying Online
Click here to pay your citation online. Please note that the online system requires two days to process your payment. Your payment must be posted two business days prior to your due date to avoid further penalties and assessments.
Please note: If you wish to request Traffic School you may not use the on-line payment system to do so. Please contact the Court that your case is assigned to directly to see if you are eligible. If you are requesting a Trial by Written Declaration you may not use the on-line payment system, you must contact the appropriate division and the money will be placed in Trust pending decision of the Court. Please see information in the FAQ's for further details.
If You Would Like to Request a Payment Plan
The Payment Plan is a program which allows you to make monthly payments on your citation (ticket). If you are interested, you must appear in court on or before your arraignment date to request a payment plan. A one time processing fee of $35 will be added to your bail and must be paid when setting up your account. Once your payment plan is set up, you may make your monthly payments through our online payment system or mail your payment to PO Box 732, Modesto, CA 95353. We also accept walk in payments at 1100 I Street, Modesto, CA.
If You Are on a Payment Plan
It is your responsibility to make payments as agreed. If payments are not made by the agreed date, there may be further penalties added in the amount of $310.00 or more per case and your driver's license may be suspended. Should your license be suspended, the suspension will not be lifted until the amount owed is paid in full.
It is your responsibility to notify the Court if you have a change of address, financial status or if you cannot make your payment by the agreed date.
